WEEK 32: Sun Lakes, Arizona
I love photographing around water, and went to the pool that is several blocks from our house, to shoot. There are ultramarine mosaic tiles embedded in the steps leading into the pool, and I became fascinated with the way the regular pattern became distorted through the gently moving water. I made dozens of images, with varying compositions, and because of the distortion, each was slightly different. I chose this particular image for this week because I liked the way the curved pattern of tiles echoed the curve of the step, and also because I enjoyed the subtle difference in tone and colour between the surface of the step and the bottom of the pool.
