Week 31
WEEK 31: Scottsdale, Arizona
My family has been visiting this week, and we're staying in Scottsdale with them. According to the "rules" of this project, my weekly project photograph must be made on hotel property, if I am away from home. This image was made by the hotel pool. There were several, bright golden coloured awnings which were installed to provide shade above the games and ping pong tables. The deep blue desert sky contrasted vividly with the yellow awnings. Using a long lens, I composed the photograph so that there would be a segment of sky visible between two of the awnings. At first I used a polarizing filter to deepen the blue sky, but found that it darkened it far too much, so I removed it and made the photograph with no filter at all.
