The wall of this building behind a palm tree, here in Arizona, was divided into two sections; one part was painted white, the other brown. I positioned myself in such a way that the tree was located right between the two areas, and photographed it, excluding the leaves. In post processing, I converted the image to black and white to eliminate the element of color, and cropped to place the tree so that it divided the image in half. The composition is simple and minimal, and the the light on the edge of the trunk, on the dark side of the picture, is very important. Please click
