week 7: mostly neutral colour

week 7: mostly neutral colour - 52 week project: Colour
I liked the configuration of the partly open flap on the exhibition tent, but just as I was about to make the exposure, someone stuck their hand out to close the flap. I hesitated for a fraction of a second, thinking that my composition was ruined, but decided to make the shot anyway. Most of this image is black and white, except for the small neutral grey/beige strip of canvas at the top, and the hand. Although the hand is extremely small in the picture space, because it is almost the only bit of colour in a sea of neutrality, it is eye catching. Had there been other colours in the picture, the hand would have been almost unnoticeable.
