week 39: mostly one colour

When thinking about the colour of a lake, we think "blue". However, water is colourless and can reflect whatever is nearby. Beside the dock at our Muskoka cottage, the sandy bottom and dead leaves are relflected in the shallow water, making it appear a warm tobacco colour. Flashes of sunlight on the surface and golden shafts of sunlight bouncing up from the bottom, create variety in the various brown hues.
