week 28: mostly neutral

The walls, ceiling and arches in this building were all painted pure white. The only illumination came from a window, high up in an arch and another further down the hallway. The other surfaces were in shadow, but reflected some of the light bouncing off opposite walls. The result was a grouping of different areas of tone and neutral colour, ranging from pure white, through various cool and warm greys and soft beiges. I stood there for quite a while, fascinated at how the colours and tones on the surfaces altered and shifted as the light from the skylight changed with the passing of clouds.
