week 12

WEEK 12: COTTAGE, MUSKOKA, ONTARIO
While sitting by the lake I became intrigued watching the rope which tethered our raft to the dock bob about in the gentle waves. Each time it came in contact with the water, concentric ripples were formed, and the reflection of the rope changed and distorted. I made over one hundred photographs of it, trying to capture the exact instant when the rope broke contact with the lake. While many were successful, I felt that this was the best. I've seen this rope and water a billion times at the cottage over the years but until I began this project, never thought to photograph it, or even examine it, for that matter.
