theme 6 week 2: INTENTIONAL CAMERA MOVEMENT

I was on the pier in Port Dover, on Lake Erie, on an extremely windy day. Waves were crashing against the pier, and a flock of birds all took off at the same time (don't ask me why!). Because of the high winds, it was nearly impossible to hold the camera steady, and a tripod would have blown into the water, so I selected a relatively slow shutter speed to make the exposure. Normally I'd move the camera a bit during the exposure, but I didn't need to since I was getting blown around by the wind. The camera movement gives a much more accurate sense of the exhilarating activity of the wind, waves and flying birds. Please click here to see Simone's image.
