hydro towers

Even though hydro towers can mar the landscape, I find the complex configurations of the metal structures and delicate wires to have wonderful photographic potential, especially for creating graphic design images. To emphasize the pattern of lines created by the pylons and wires, I did the shoots on overcast days, so that the sky would provide a plain, light background. I also avoided including any trees or buildings. A bit of tweaking in Photoshop was done to darken the towers to black and make the sky pure white, in order to further simplify the compositions.

I had a great time exploring all the patterns and lines created by the towers and wires, and it was a real experience to stand among those huge structures!
