2017 was not a great year and I'm glad to see it gone. My husband had a serious illness, surgery and 8 months of chemotherapy treatment. For most of this past year I didn't have the time, inclination or energy to make photographs the way I usually do. Although I hardly used my regular camera, I did stay creative by making many photographs with my iPhone around home and during his several hospital stays and at the chemotherapy clinic for his weekly treatments. Some of these are included in the faves I made this year. For me, photography has always been about "seeing" and the discovery of interesting visual elements, regardless of the situation or the equipment used to capture them. Being able to continue to do this during this difficult time was enormously therapeutic...and fun!
